Captain Kishan Akula won the toss and elected to field, a decision that proved inspired as Sonning's bowlers applied early pressure on the Kidmore End top order. Siddharth Kumar struck first, removing opener Sam Robinson for just 2, before Jack Durrant took centre stage with a magnificent spell of 3 for 5 from his three overs, including a maiden.
