Sonning CC Girls' Cricket
Our junior section is thriving and we promote cricket for all in a friendly and enjoyable environment where all children have an opportunity to take part in the game, developing new skills irrespective of their starting ability. We are excited to announce girls-only Hardball cricket for the 2026 Season continues with Thames Fusion setup in 2024.
Hardball Cricket
Due to training and experience, some girls have joined our mixed teams (through the junior section) for hardball games; all girls registered for mixed cricket and coaches always try to ensure that if a girl is playing in a mixed game, there will be at least 2 girls playing. We also encourage girls to play down an age group in mixed cricket, which is allowed and advised by the ECB, but this is not mandatory.
Training
Our girls-only hardball training will be on Friday nights in the summer and we run sessions on a Sunday at Forest School in March and April.
Fixtures
Following our successful integration into the Berkshire Youth Girl’s Cricket League, we will continue to offer pairs soft-ball girls-only cricket. We will also offer girls only hard-ball fixtures, and Mixed fixtures for girls will continue in 2024

About
We are an entirely volunteer-run club with all funds being used to support the cricket. This isn’t possible without parental support and if you are considering our cricket for your daughter, feel free to get involved too. As an inclusive team sport, cricket encourages teamwork and is centred on fun and engagement – a sport for all. Sonning CC is totally committed to both soft-ball and hard-ball.
