1st XI v Swindon Nalgo 1st Team

Won

Swindon Nalgo won the toss and elected to bat.

Match Report

Opener Mark Richards was in sparkling form as Sonning wrapped up a 51-run win over Swindon NALGO.

Richards, who started the season with Home Counties League side Henley, smashed 152 in his side’s total of 269-2.

He received good support from Nazim Hussain, with 68, and JJ Harris (21) as the Swindon attack struggled in the heat.

Swindon, as usual, made a real attempt to get the runs, led by skipper Shaz Khan (55) and Muddassar Rafiq (49).

But George Troughton took 4-34 and Ghulam Abbas 5-64 as NALGO were eventually dismissed for 218.
