1st XI v West Ilsley 1st Team

Won

West Ilsley won the toss and elected to bat.

Match Report

Despite being without key batsmen Mark Richards and Duncan Parr, Sonning still had too much for West Ilsley in a nine-wicket Premier Division triumph.

Wests battled their way to 195 for 9 with skipper Graham Beale (46) and Kevin Holloway (32) top scoring as Ghulam Abbas bagged 5-64.

But in a controlled reply, Harvey Grout responded to being pushed up the order by hitting an unbeaten 76, ably supported by Tom Allen (62) and Latif Gore (35no), as Sonning cruised to victory on 199-1.

Ilsley allrounder Russell Jeffries is now unavailable for the next three weeks which will hardly help his side's cause and they battle to stay up.
