Sonning Women Secure Victory on the Road at Moreton

Sonning Women's 1st XI claimed a well-deserved win away at Moreton in the Super 8 Development Group 2, posting 94 for 2 from their 16 overs before restricting the hosts to 86 for 6 in reply.

After Moreton captain Alex Knight won the toss and chose to field, Sonning's openers Siobhan Davis and Chloe Bailey set about building a platform. Davis was the more aggressive of the pair, striking 13 from just 12 balls with two boundaries, while Bailey contributed a useful 8 from her 12 deliveries, including a four of her own. The Moreton bowlers struggled badly with their line and length throughout the innings, conceding a remarkable 52 extras — 41 of which came in wides alone. Avril Harris and Mel Good were the chief culprits, shipping 11 and 14 wides respectively from their two-over spells.
