2nd XI v Chiswick & Whitton 3rd Team
Chiswick & Whitton won the toss and elected to bat.
Match Report
We needed to win and we did so convincingly.
Our openers complement each other very well and both like the rest of this team are valued.
We had a very good opening partnership followed by a well constructed innings by Retief. Harvey and Naqash contributed well in the middle order with contributions from Ted Baker, Anthony Foley et al.
We bowled well and dismissed the opposition in 33 overs with both Andrew Benning and Harvey Grout getting 5 wickets each.
Andrew Benning’s contribution has earned him the Man of the Match award this week. Andrew gives stability at the top of the order and has bowled with control and venom. His fielding is not too bad either!
We are third in the league within 23 points of the top. We need to focus on getting results. 13 games left let us force forwards.
