Kestrels Struggle as Boyne Hill Dominate U9 League Fixture

Sonning U9 Kestrels travelled to Boyne Hill Cricket Club on 10th May for their BYCL Under 9 Super 8s North East league fixture and found themselves on the wrong end of a comprehensive defeat, with the home side's Under 9 Stags claiming victory in convincing fashion.

Boyne Hill won the toss and chose to bat first, making full use of the conditions at their home ground. In the pairs format, where both teams start with 200 runs and lose five for each dismissal, the Stags posted an impressive 143 from their 20 overs without losing a single wicket. The Sonning bowlers were unable to make any breakthroughs, and the home batters accumulated runs freely throughout their innings.

The Kestrels faced a stiff challenge in reply, needing to match or better Boyne Hill's total to take the points.
