Sonning made 162-8 in their innings and despite 51 from Dan Harrigan, Goring came up just short on 156-8 as they had to settle for a losing draw.
Waqar Ahmed was the pick of the Sonning attack with 4-36 and his side collected 18 points to Goring's 13.
