U15 Thames Fusion 'Fire' Concede Fixture Against Falkland
Thames Fusion 'Fire' were handed a disappointing result in the BYCL Girls U15 Blast Group 2 on Tuesday 24th June, conceding their scheduled fixture against Falkland Thunder at the Wilson Carlisle Ground.
The match, due to be played over 20 overs per side, did not get under way, with Thames Fusion 'Fire' unable to fulfil the fixture. Falkland were awarded the full 20 league points as a consequence, while the Fire picked up none.
It represents a frustrating evening for the Thames Fusion side, who will have been keen to put points on the board in the group stage of the competition. Conceded matches carry implications not only in terms of league standings but also net run rate and overall momentum within a squad.
Falkland, for their part, will be content to bank the points without having to take the field, strengthening their position in Group 2 of the Berkshire Cricket Competitions' youth girls' format.
The Fire will hope to regroup and field a full squad for their next scheduled outing in the competition, with every remaining fixture now carrying added significance if they are to remain in contention in the group.
