Stingers Secure Cup Victory Despite West Ilsley's Late Surge

Sonning Stingers Soft Ball progressed in the WSB Cup with a hard-fought victory over West Ilsley at King George's Field on Tuesday evening, though the visitors made them work for every run in a contest that proved closer than anticipated.

West Ilsley captain Francesca Wilson won the toss and opted to field, a decision that initially appeared sound as her bowlers kept the Stingers in check during the early overs. Opener Melissa Pengraeve provided the most fluent batting of the Sonning innings, striking 15 off just 15 balls, including two boundaries, to give her side early momentum.
