Sonning U9 Eagles produced a strong all-round display to defeat Harpsden in this BYCL Under 9 Super 8s North West league fixture at King George's Field on 5th July. After being asked to bat first following Harpsden's decision to field at the toss, the Eagles posted 135 from their 20 overs before restricting the visitors to 111, claiming victory by 24 runs.

The Eagles' batting effort was built on contributions across the order, with Abdul-Ahad Baig and Younus Ahmed both top-scoring with 10 runs apiece. Baig struck a boundary during his 13-ball knock at the top of the order, setting a positive tone from the outset, while Ahmed's innings later in the order included two fours from 18 deliveries and provided valuable momentum in the middle overs. Yeshwin Saimpu added a fluent 9 from 11 balls, also finding the boundary once, to ensure Sonning's top three all made meaningful starts.
