Mohammed Stars as Sonning Secure Victory Over Windsor
Sonning 1st XI claimed a hard-fought win against Windsor in their latest fixture, with Zahid Mohammed delivering an outstanding all-round performance. After posting 185/9 in their allocated overs, Sonning successfully defended their total, dismissing Windsor for 167 to secure an 18-run victory.
Mohammed was the standout performer for Sonning, contributing a match-defining 65 runs with the bat before demonstrating his bowling prowess with exceptional figures of 4/25 from his eight-over spell. His batting partnership with Muhammad Ayub (42) proved crucial in building Sonning's competitive total after opener Peter Higginbottom departed early for just 5 runs.
Daniel Longridge provided valuable late-order runs, remaining unbeaten on 17, while Khalid "Bobby" Malik added 10 not out to help Sonning reach their final total of 185/9. The tail-end contribution proved significant in what eventually became a closely contested match.
