Sunday 1s v Basingstoke Sunday XI
Basingstoke won the toss and elected to bat.
Match Report
A tough game against a strong Basingstoke side, there were periods in the match especially with a strong 64 from Jacob Fitton and a great 43 from Charles Astwood who even photo'd the score book to prove his score, which and combined partnered with a steady 37 from Shami put us just over the 200 mark. Sadly though whilst we contained the 2 strong openers with some solid bowling and reasonable fielding and had Basingstoke contained well below the average run rate for a good 15 consecutive overs, once the 2 openers were dismissed, their 4th batsman who had really been on form for Basingstoke in recent weeks did us a lot of damage and in the end we succumbed in the 32nd over. A great effort though all round.
