Match Report

Another difficult hard battle with egos, tantrums, tiaras and much pre wedding nerves.

I look forward to playing with some men very soon.

A game we should have won but the openers battled well with contributions from all

the batsmen. Andrew Benning once again made a solid 41 with Ted Baker battling for

a well earned 31 only to sacrifice himself for his team and Country run out.

What looked like 150 turned out to be a well made team effort of 230 in 52 overs,

George Troughton ‘mullering’ a few sixes in his brief stay.

Retief once again was consistent in his contributions to the team and on entering the

foray took our run rate to respectability.

We could have bowled better and should have beaten a weaker team. Although

wickets fell and George Troughton took 3 wickets only Waqas Tahir looked

threatening as was the quickest on a slow pitch, with accuracy and seam movement.

At times too good to get the edge.

Waqas is the well deserved man of the match with miserly and effective figures of

9-3-16-3. Well done Waqas.
